We know that there are many articles out there explaining Cerebral Palsy (CP), and too many words can be overwhelming.

For those of us who learn better through an audio-visual presentation, here are some videos we have found helpful –

‘Cerebral Palsy (CP) – Causes, Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment & Pathology’ by Osmosis (7 min)

A good introduction to the brain in easy-to-understand terms. This video also explains why motor difficulties occur.

‘What is Cerebral Palsy and What Causes It?’ by Khan Academy (11 min)

An approachable lesson which gives a good overview of CP.

In particular, it gives a detailed explanation on possible causes and touches on the Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) used to classify severity of CP.

‘Cerebral Palsy Detailed Overview’ by Armando Hasudungan (13 min)

Easy-to-follow illustrative explanation on Cerebral Palsy.

From 4:46 onwards, it gives a detailed look into how the brain works, how CP affects the brain and subsequently the different parts of the body.
